This is the 3rd and last Novel of the Aftermath Trilogy from M. Chuck Wendig. It will be out on 31.01.2017. The only thing we know is that the book will be focusing mainly on the battle of Jakku.
At Comic-Con San Diego 2016, the back cover was revealed and we can clearly see the exact same AT-AT that Rey is using as a house on Jakku.
Personally i did not like the first novel (see my related post here) because till now there are no real connection to Ep7. But first of all I still have to read Book 2 : Life debt and this one makes already a clear visual link to Ep7. So now I am full of expectations.
Does Dave Felloni again reintroduced Clone Wars characaters?
Well it seems to me! Because the green clouds that we see in the Rebels Season 3 trailer are really evoking the Night sister witch Clan leader: Mother Talzin. **** WARNING Spoilers ****
Her first appearance was in Clone Wars Season 3 episode 12 in which Assaj Ventress after behing betrayed by Doku comes back to her home world Dathomir to the night sister clan. With the help of Mother Talzin she starts a plot in order to suppress Doku.
This bring them to the massacre of the Sister by Grevious droid army (Clone Wars S04ep19). Mother Talzin lost her power and disappeared. Since that time she is trying to come back and restore her power by all means.
First time by stealing the force connection from the "Bardotans" but she was again defeated by Mace Windu S05EP08-09.
Secondly inside the comic arc : Darth Maul, Son of Dathomir in which Darth Maul is plotting to make her reborn through the body of Count Doku. But again her magic cannot defeat the force and she is left for dead by Darth Sidious himself !

Now is she again trying to return through Kannan ?
Well inside the trailer we see the characteristic green mist of the Dark magic

Moreover the plot could be very similar to the comic arc, because Darth Maul considers Mother Talzin his true mother and he knows that in order to defeat Sidious and have revenge he needs her power. It could be that in Rebels he wants to unleashed the force of the Sith Holocron in order to use it to bring "his Mother" back to life.
In the trailer we see that the green mist has a face and some kind of hood (that even looks red to me...). So it can match. Moreover we see the creature putting a hand on the face of Kanan and then he sees through green eyes.

Same thing happened to Count Doku, when Talzin possessed his body.
But we see "green eyed" Kanan actually fight against Maul. So this does not fit....
Last point. Perhaps you have seen my question of a previous post concerning the Rebels Season 3 trailer : WHO is the female voice saying "your anger gives you strength" on min 2:50. I confronted this voice with the voice used on Clone Wars and they are very similar. So I now think that it Talzin talking !
This is an interesting base for discussion. What do you think ?
For me the Dave Feloni Tv Show is really the best moment in the Star Wars galaxy right now ! Because simply it features everything from the universe : starships old and new, Jedi and Sith, Imperial key characters and we love to see all the bridge between all the movies!

Villains and Imperials:
Till now we had seen nothing less than : Tarkin, Darth Vader, Darth Maul + new one like the Inquisitors or agent Kalus. But now (and this is the biggest news), the Rebels will have to deal with : GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN himself !

This is brilliant because this is a non-canonical character from the expanded universe. Now he becomes cannon. This characters was originally created by Timothy Zahn in the novels "The Thrawn Trilogy". Now the fans always criticizing Disney for the fact that the Expended Universe was forgotten should be happy. Dave Feloni explained that he worked in collaboration with M. Zahn in order to animate Thrawn in respect to his creator and this is really good.
Moreover I find now the whole work on all the platforms (Film, Tv, books, Comics...) really well coordinated in order to put all bricks together. Last thing is that it opens the door to other "Legend" key characters. Who would you bring to cannon now ?
Darth Maul will continue to act in Season 3 with the goal to take Ezra has apprentice and turn him to the dark side probably in order to unleash the power of the Sith Holocron.
We still see Tarkin and a new Lothal Governer but there are no references to Darth Vader, the remaining Inquistor or Agent Kalus. Let see in future.

The trailer pushes on the attraction of the Sith Holocron and the dilemma of Ezra : I need the secret in order to avoid death of my friends = same issue that Anakin faced in Episode 2 and 3 : I need the power of the Dark Side in order to save who he loves! Off course Kanan and Maul will be antagonist and try to bring Ezra to their side. Maul will for sure try to destroy Kanan. This we can see in a very dramatic short clip shown at SWCE16.
Kanan: He wears now a very nice and simple mask and he looks wiser and greater. We can see him fight in the Trailer and advice Ezra. So the role stays the same but it seems to me always closer to Obiwan role.
Sabine: New hair cut and new gadgets : jet pack and DARK SABER !!! We see a lot of Mandalorians so we will probably learn a lot of Sabine past.
Hera: She looks like a key player of the new formed rebellion. Still seriously leader.
Rex: He is still around and it seems he will have destroy some more battle droids :-)

Wedge Antilles ! Super great. I like it because again we bridge to the original films. After the young Leia, now we will have the young Wedge that leaves the Empire fleet and join the rebellions. redemption?

Denga : A force made creature in the middle of Light and Dark. We see it discussing with Kanan teaching him something. Interesting.
Y-wing : it is here not clear for me how they are introduced but after the A-wing in Season 1 and B wing in season 2 here are the Y's.
So it looks really really great and we cannot wait to see it !
One last question : WHO is the female voice saying "your anger gives you strength" ? min 2:50. it sounds familiar to me : Assaj Ventress !?!? What do you think ??
The cover of the Ashoka novel has been released at the StarWars Celebration 15/07.
Novel is written by E.K. JOHNSTON.
It will be available october 2016.
It explains the story of Ashoka from "the Wrong Jedi" when she left the order and her coming back in Rebels. The story line is done 100% in cooperation with Dave Feloni so it is a real bridge between the 2 animated series.
Ashoka he for me one of the most interesting Jedi character of the whole StarWars world ! I cannot wait to read this novel.
Hello everybody. For the Starwars Celebration London starting tomorrow, M. Dave Felloni just made us a small present with a clip of one episode (the first ?) of Rebels Season 3 ! It has been released inside the Starwars Show 10.

Now here are some of my observations :
1. Ezra has grown up fast !
As you can see He is now much taller, He has a new suite and most of all he has a new very "military" haircut.
Along the whole clip we can see him very very focused and efficient. Indeed it clearly shows that he has taken full responsibility of taking on the role of Kanan that is now blind.
He is really acting like the wounded Jedi: the way he gives directions and order, the way he stands, he runs... ...
The other 2 characters Zeb and Sabin are looking equal to previous Season from this clip.
2. Ezra has acquired strong skills !
You can for sure remember that Vader himself destroyed the combined "Blaster-Saber" of Ezra at season 2 end. So now, we can see him with a blaster : a DL-44 (yes ! that the one of Han Solo)
And of course, he has got a new saber. On this picture you can see a bit of the grip and this red activation button. The blade is green. Why not blue like his fantastic eyes ? I am very interesting in knowing if he made it out of a new Kyber Crystal ? when ? How ? Hopefully we will get some infos on that !
The Fighting skills are impressive ! Most impressive. He uses the force to jump and force push. He uses the blade and the blaster nearly same time! This is very precise and the fighting way is leaving NO hope to the opponents (... Stormtroopers still not able to shut 5 guys in a corridor....). It recalls the simple but efficient fighting skills of Kanan but there is more....
... and this brings me to the last point....
3. What about the dark side ?
We know that Ezra opened the Holocron. What did he learn ?
The bellow picture shows the determination in his eyes. Some might say that it is preparation for fight: focusing, concentration. I say that we can see hate and need of revenge.
The fight is also very rude and leave NO chance and NO mercy.
So , as a conclusion, we can see on the one hand Ezra really taking on responsibility to lead the group as a Jedi in place of Kanan. He seems very self confident. But on the other hand, revenge is still fighting inside him and we still see that falling to the dark side can still be a big risk!
This is gone a be a great Season ! Can't wait to see the official Trailer.
